Dr. Fixit Torchshield AG 3050 is a high-performance, torch-applied, modified bitumen waterproofing membrane. It is designed for use in a variety of roofing and waterproofing applications, providing excellent resistance to weathering and long-term durability.
Uses and Applications:
-
Roof Waterproofing:
- Suitable for both new and existing flat and sloped roofs.
- Ideal for use on residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
-
Terrace Waterproofing:
- Provides effective waterproofing for terraces, balconies, and podiums.
-
Basement Waterproofing:
- Can be used for external waterproofing of basements and other below-ground structures.
-
Foundation Waterproofing:
- Ensures long-term protection of foundations from water ingress.
-
Tunnel and Bridge Deck Waterproofing:
- Suitable for waterproofing tunnels, bridge decks, and other infrastructure projects.
-
Wet Area Waterproofing:
- Can be used in wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and water tanks to prevent leakage and seepage.
Application Procedure:
-
Surface Preparation:
- Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, grease, oil, and loose particles.
- Repair any cracks, holes, or damaged areas with appropriate repair materials.
- Prime the surface with a suitable primer to improve adhesion.
-
Membrane Application:
- Unroll the membrane and align it on the substrate.
- Use a propane gas torch to heat the underside of the membrane until the bitumen begins to melt.
- Press the heated membrane firmly onto the substrate to achieve a strong bond.
- Overlap adjacent sheets by at least 100 mm (4 inches) on the sides and 150 mm (6 inches) at the ends.
- Use the torch to heat and seal the overlaps, ensuring a watertight joint.
-
Finishing:
- Ensure that all edges, corners, and penetrations are properly sealed.
- Inspect the membrane for any defects or unbonded areas and repair as necessary.
-
Protection and Curing:
- Allow the membrane to cool and fully bond to the substrate.
- Protect the applied membrane from damage during subsequent construction activities.
BENEFITS
- Self-finished membrane provides joint less monolithic surface & provides an excellent watertight solution.Â
- High tensile strength, tear & puncture resistance properties make it highly flexible & durable.
- It is an impermeable membrane with less water absorption proper ties, hence protects the structure from weathering.
COVERAGE
- Range of 2, 3 & 4 mm membranes in Polyester or fibre glass base in 1 mtr x 10 mtr roll sizes.
