Vastu Tips for Pooja Room

1 What You Must Follow

1. As per vastu, north-east corner of home is best site for pooja place.
2. East and west are second best locations.
3. Keep the pooja place on ground floor.
4. Keep the idols in east and/or west of the prayer room.
5. Place the idols a few inches (at least an inch) away from wall.
6. Pooja room can have doors and windows in north or east walls.
7. Roof of pooja room in pyramid shape is very auspicious.
8. You can place an Agnikund in the prayer room in south-east corner.
9. Entrance of pooja place must have a threshold.
10. If the prayer area is in kitchen, then keep it in the north-east corner of kitchen; you should face east while praying.

 2 What You Must Avoid

1. The pooja place should never be in south direction.
2. Do not have pooja place in a store-room.
3. Never make pooja room in basement or first or above floors.
4. Do not have prayer place above, below or next to any toilet or kitchen.
5. Idols should never face south.
6. Do not chisel off the wall to make place for keeping idols.
7. Never keep broken idols.
8. Idols should never be placed directly in front of the entrance door of prayer room.
9. Never keep the idols brought from old temples in the prayer room.
10. Women should not enter the prayer room during menstruation period.
11. Do not hang photos of animals and birds in the pooja place.
12. Never keep a dustbin in the pooja place; it reduces positive energy of the room.
13. Never ever, under any circumstance, conceal any money or other valuables in pooja place.
